The scheduling services expertise provided by Management Solutions helped the DoD Agency complete a $200M project on time and within budget.

The Challenge:

Our client was a Department of Defense (DoD) Agency, responsible for the design and construction of an approximately $200 million facility for the United States Air Force. The project was very complex, as it was comprised of two major facilities and other ancillary building totaling 679,000 square feet. The client needed support building and managing project schedules that were in compliance with their requirements specific to logic sequencing and constructability.

The Strategy:

Management Solutions partnered with the client to provide scheduling services for the project. Our team reviewed and analyzed contractor schedules for construction logic and sequencing using Predictive Execution Modeling (PEM) and Active Risk Management (ARM). PEM uses past performance to statistically trend forward and predictive areas where future improvements/changes are needed.  We also performed additional logic, sequencing, and duration reviews as each construction package was released and subcontractor bids and schedules were received.

As part of our process, the team reviewed monthly Payment Application requests from contracts and conducted site walk downs and field verification of physical completion progress. We provided risk analysis support that included suggestions for risk prevention and risk mitigation.

The Outcome:

The scheduling services expertise provided by Management Solutions helped the client complete the project on time and within budget. We helped the agency analyze and mitigate project risk and gain (and maintain) a high level of confidence in the schedule throughout the project.
