Our client was a Department of Energy (DOE) agency. The client had a multi-billion dollar backlog of funded projects, some of which were funded, some not. However, the client did not have an executable portfolio that prioritized the projects based upon the overall objectives of the agency.
Management Solutions partnered with the client and provided project management support for the effort. Our team determined the scope of the effort and identified the key stakeholders that needed to be involved with the initiative. We interviewed key staff and assimilated information specific to project portfolio. We managed the communications process with stakeholders and provided project support specific to strategic planning and acquisitions. Management Solutions team members were responsible for all project scheduling.
An executable portfolio was developed within budget for the client. Management Solutions continues to support the client, as our team is currently responsible for managing the front-end of projects selected for execution.
