One of our core values is ‘Servant’s Heart’ – putting service before self, and serving the communities we live in. We would like to congratulate Management Solutions Program Manager Tiffany Hearn for her outstanding example of putting this value into practice with her recent graduation from the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Oak Ridge Program.
Recognized as an emerging leader in Oak Ridge, Ms. Hearn was nominated to participate in the 10-month program to help identify and implement solutions to community issues. The twenty-four participants accepted into the program met regularly to learn about and discuss topics such as government, education, economic development, health care, social services, quality of life and other timely subjects. With the goal in mind to ‘make a difference,’ Hearn and the other participants collaborated on a group project and carried out their vision from the initial idea stage through fund-raising and implementation.
The participants identified the need for greater science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) resources to benefit the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Oak Ridge and solicited $20,000 in donations to create a STEM activity room. Management Solutions is proud to be among the donors to this effort. The Leadership Class provided high end technology equipment, activity kits, and storage units as well as partnered with Jefferson Middle School of Oak Ridge to paint a wall mural.
“It was very rewarding to be instrumental in a project with the potential to have long-term benefits for students,” said Ms. Hearn. “I’m grateful I had the opportunity to use the project management skills I’ve honed at Management Solutions to help the community.”
As a program manager at Management Solutions with over twenty years of experience in both the government and commercial sectors, Ms. Hearn has been highly successful in her role managing a multi-year, multi-million-dollar business and administrative support contract for the Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management (OREM). “My experience with the Leadership Oak Ridge program not only provided an opportunity for connectivity to local government, community, and economic development, but will enhance my future leadership skills.” Congratulations, Tiffany!
